An Organ Culture Model to Test Toxic and Specific Effects of Drugs and Chemicals on Human Skin

Raija Tammi, MD, PhD
University of California School of Public Health, Berkeley, California

Tammi will study the effects of drugs and other agents on human skin cultures. Tammi hopes to advance scientists' understanding of the nature of skin toxicity and to evaluate the feasibility of using human skin cultures as an alternative to skin toxicity testing in living humans and animals.
