P.C. Huang, PhD
The Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, Baltimore, Maryland
Huang will investigate how cells fight inflammation. He will test whether an anti-inflammatory drug known to be effective against arthritis induces the production of metallothionein, which he suspects is used by cells in battling inflammatory agents. Among other things, Huang will look at RNA molecules that carry information concerning metallothionein synthesis from the gene.
