CAAT's Information Program officially began in 1981, shortly after the establishment of the Center, with a grant from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation. The funding allowed CAAT to begin publication of a regular newsletter that provided updates about the Center's programs and activities, as well as news about the alternatives field. The newsletter was published several times each year until 1987, when the CAAT Advisory Board voted to suspend publication in favor of a new approach: online publishing. Today, CAAT's Information Program includes the production of two web sites: this one and Altweb, the Alternatives to Animal Testing Website. Altweb is intended to be an international clearinghouse of resources, information, and news on alternatives. We also produce both electronic and printed technical reports with the proceedings from CAAT workshops and symposia, resources for students, and a variety of printed publications for the general public. |
